Who leads the week

Adrian Constantinescu

Adrian Constantinescu, portrait against green foliage, in a light linen shirt

A week with Adrian: qi gong and breathwork in the morning, a sharing circle in the evening, plus individual Gene Keys or Human Design sessions. For years he has led groups to places where you come a step closer to yourself. At sea a particular freedom comes on top – it cannot be described, only experienced.

Since 2013 he has delivered over 550 courses and workshops, as well as 17 camps and journeys in different regions of the world. He combines modern methods with established practices for the development of consciousness that help you deal with emotions and stress.

Real development begins the moment we become capable of understanding ourselves.

Why a boat

A group that moves

A wide bay from above: turquoise water, wooded hills, islands on the horizon

A retreat on land is a house a group lives in. A boat is a group that moves. There is no evening entertainment and no everyday life knocking at the door. Whoever is on board is there for a week — that brings a group together faster than any intention.

The surroundings still change every day without anyone packing. Each evening the boat lies somewhere else.

In late autumn, air and water are still mild, but the bays are empty. For a retreat, that is not the off-season but the better season.

The week

A week to arrive at yourself

Sunrise from the foredeck: the sky in orange, the sea shining, a rocky coast on the right

Every day with Adrian: on deck in the morning, sometimes on the beach, in the evening in a circle with the group. Plus your individual sessions – time with him alone, for your questions.

How you can shape your day

The morning begins the way you feel it: wake your body and mind with a lap round the boat, watch the sunrise light up the day, paddle to the beach on a SUP or simply enjoy the peace and quiet on board as the day wakes up – you follow what feels right.

The group comes together for the qi gong session, followed by a generous breakfast. Later it is anchor up or lines off, and the boat glides across the water – pure freedom.

Lying in the sun, reading a book, watching the waves: you do exactly what you feel like.

By early afternoon the boat usually lies in a bay again. You swim or simply do nothing. Excursions ashore are expressly welcome, because there is usually something special to discover. You arrange them with Adrian; costs such as a hire car are yours.

When the sun stands low, the group comes together once more. You look back on the day and at what it has stirred in you. Then you eat together.

The boat

Room for the group and room for you

A catamaran at anchor at dusk, light in the saloon, calm water all round

Example of this type.

The boat planned is a Lagoon 50.

A catamaran of around fifty feet: saloon and cockpit lie on one level, the nets wait at the bow, and up top the flybridge has a view all round. So even in a group that shares a lot, you always find a place of your own.

On your own or shared

You share a cabin with another guest. Who shares with whom, you decide together on the first evening on board. If you want the cabin to yourself for certain, you pay a supplement of EUR 900.

If the two of you come together, you book your cabin together and are sure to stay together.

The cabins, an example of this design: the 4 cabins at the ends of the hulls are the guest cabins.

Who sails the boat

Ruedi Hintermann

Ruedi Hintermann at the helm of a catamaran in the Corinth Canal, the rock face behind

Ruedi sails the boat himself, with the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore qualification and several thousand nautical miles of experience as captain on deliveries, on the open sea and with guests on board. His responsibility is your safety and your well-being; every day in the briefing he tells you where the boat is heading. If it interests you, he will show you the basics of sailing and life on board.

20 years in the hotel business make him the host of the week, together with the hostess who looks after you on board.

For me, the sea means absolute freedom.

The route

Saronic Gulf, out of Athens

Aegina, Poros, Hydra and the bays in between. The route is a proposal; it is decided day by day by weather, sea state and safety.

If a storm comes up, the boat waits it out sheltered in a marina. Your programme carries on all the same, because it needs no island, only the group and you.

  1. Saturday

A catamaran at anchor at dusk, the sky orange

    Boarding at Alimos Marina

You come aboard in the afternoon, then the briefing on the vessel and on safety. If there is time, the boat spends the first night already out off Aegina.

  2. Sunday

The single column of the temple of Apollo above the sea near Aegina Town

    Aegina Town

Neoclassical façades along the harbour, pistachios in every form, and above the bay the lone column of the temple of Apollo. This close to Athens and already a holiday.

  3. Monday

The harbour of Poros with the clock tower on the hill

    Poros

The town climbs the hill, and the bell tower at the top is the evening walk. Alongside the quay you lie in the middle of things — this is the evening ashore.

  4. Tuesday

The harbour of Hydra in its half-circle of stone houses, from above

    Hydra

No cars, only donkeys and stone stairs; the harbour a half-circle of captains' houses. The boat anchors outside, and you go in by dinghy.

  5. Wednesday

Perdika and, opposite, the island of Moni, clear water in between

    Moni, off Perdika

An uninhabited island with peacocks and wild goats, the water glass-clear over pale ground. Opposite lies Perdika, whose tavernas serve the catch of the day.

  6. Thursday

Dragonera bay on Agistri, pines down to the water

    Agistri

Pines down to the water, turquoise bays, no traffic. A last swim at anchor before the way back on Friday.

  7. Friday

View from the helm in the first light, calm water, mountains on the horizon

    Back to Athens

The way back in one piece; by the afternoon the boat lies at Alimos Marina again. The last evening on board belongs to the group.

The weather at the time of travel

In early November the Saronic Gulf is mild. The Meltemi of high summer has died down.

Air 20 °C by day, 13 °C at night, a degree cooler by mid-month
Water 21 °C, towards 20 °C by mid-month
Rain on roughly every seventh day, a little more often in the second week of November
Wind mostly 2 to 4 Beaufort, mainly from the north, at times from the south
Daylight a good ten and a half hours in early November, a good ten hours by mid-month

Climate averages 1991–2020 for the first two weeks of November; air, rain and wind from the Hellinikon weather station near Alimos Marina, water from satellite measurements in the Saronic Gulf.

Questions

What you may be asking yourself

Will I get seasick?
The boat sails only a few hours a day, in sheltered waters between the islands, and a catamaran hardly heels. If you are sensitive, stay on deck and look at the horizon; your body usually adjusts after a day or two. Tablets help if you take them before casting off. Seasickness can never be ruled out entirely.
Which language is the week in?
The sessions and the conversations on board are in English and Romanian.
Who else is on board?
6 to 8 guests, booked alone or as a pair, plus Adrian, the hostess and Ruedi as captain. Retreat weeks of this kind are new — you are among the first.
What if I have to cancel?
The week is confirmed in writing as soon as 6 deposits have been received by the cut-off date of 20 October 2026. Until that confirmation you may withdraw at any time; your deposit is refunded less a handling fee of EUR 100. From the confirmation onwards, the boat and services are firmly booked; if you withdraw after that, you owe the full amount. Up to 3 days before departure you may name a replacement person; if they take over your place, the amount paid is refunded less a handling fee of EUR 100. If the group has not come together by the cut-off date, the week is cancelled and you get everything back without deduction.
What should I bring?
Little, and comfortable. Bed linen and towels are on board, and before departure you get a packing list and the rules on board.

Your request is a commitment to book. As soon as your deposit has arrived, your booking is binding, unless the group of 6 people does not come together.

This is where Ruedi's reply with the payment instructions arrives.
